We need to do some improvements on our end for managing the site to the best of our capability, and we will be focusing on that, to that end we are not currently taking new users for the foreseeable future.
Neopets has a history of having a lot of insensitive and outright offensive imagery and lore. We at Moderneo want the site to be as accepting and kind to all as possible so we will be removing such ties with the main site. This may lead us further away from a recreation of Neopets, but please understand we'd rather have a welcoming and accepting site over strict replication.
These are the images/lore that will be changed in the future; please note we may add more onto this list every so often if we find out more offensive imagery and lore.
There are a few items that use the derogatory term "Gypsy/Nomad" and therefore have had their descriptions and names changed, the terms they now use are Wayfarer/Traveller/Travelling so please search for those terms if you're trying to find those items.
Some halloween pets which had green skin & witch theme have been changed to have a different skin tone due to anti-sematism ties with the original imagery.
Island Pets have been temporarily replaced with recolours while we work on a full new take on the colour!
Some of the more offensive island petpets have had a temporary image replacement (the more inoffensive island petpets have remained and will be changed only once the new island colour has been fully released).
